I just missed a ferry, and had to wait an hour for the next. These rusting iron fastenings were on the ferry wharf and jetty. What else would you do but enjoy them and make pictures with them?

I like the way the immense metallic strength of these objects is continually being eroded just by being so close to salty water. They are powerful but vulnerable. Even very strong solid things change, dissolve, and disappear. All is ephemeral.
