Georgia O’Keeffe was fascinated by these same forms, and understandably so. I like their uniqueness, and the way they are such monumentally sculptural but erotically charged shapes, bursting outwards but dragging you in at the same time. O’Keeffe’s paintings are much sought after by collectors, but the real things are so much more powerful than her clumsily stylised interpretations. Yes, I know, that’s only my opinion.
